The quaint and relaxing island of Anna Maria, usually renowned for its pristine beaches, luxurious beach weddings and relaxed Floridian attitude, was re-invented this Halloween offering a variety of scary activities and events.
Halloween activities ranging from fancy dress costumes at the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce to the annual Fall Fest there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Fall Fest includes a range of activities that both adults and children alike can enjoy, from the fancy dress parade leading to Anna Maria elementary school to the fun games and activities which continue for the remainder of the day and evening. This year these included a rock wall, haunted house, bake sale and a silent auction of scarecrows to name just a few. And as the day drew to an end there were local dj’s playing music, allowing the festivities to continue well into the evening.
And it was not only the human ghouls and goblins that could enjoy the festivities on Anna Maria Island; this year around 250 people watched the 7th annual dog costume contest, in which 30 dogs took part and were awarded prizes and goody bags.
