Dan Gagne Construction has now officially got the development well underway. A recent site visit showed that the wonderful Sears Cottage has now got its proper foundations, and work inside has removed much of the internal structure, so that the space has been opened up and looks fantastic. Soon to be ready for a tennant. Alongside the Sears Cottage, the Rosedale Cottage is also receiving the same careful treatment. This, the second of the re-cycled historic buildings is earmarked to be a cafe/restaurant and owners, Mike and Lizzie are already in talks with a few restauranters keen to bring their name to such an historic development. The public bathrooms at the back of the Rosedale Cottage are almost complete. Seemingly a strange addition, there are no other public restrooms on the Island. Much of the original plantings have been carefully removed and replaced along the back boundary of the site, another careful consideration of the Thrashers', incorporating as many elements as possible of a totally 'green' project.
Work continues and is well on schedule for an April 2011 opening. For more information, contact: mikeandlizzie@pineapplefish.com
